Keech Hospice store needs helpers

A charity shop in St Albans is on the lookout for volunteers who can give up a few hours of their time every week.

The Keech Hospice store in High Street needs new helpers to assist with the day to day running of the shop.

There are shop floor and stock room opportunities available, and shifts would involve working the tills, sorting through and organising donations.

Anyone interested in offering a helping hand should call Kim, the store manager, on 01727 895790.

Libraries to give introductory courses in social media

Residents in south west Hertfordshire will soon be able to be trained how to use social media sites such as Facebook and Twitter at their local library.

Introductory lessons in social media will be available alongside basic computing sessions from next month.

Volunteer from St Albans nominated for YOPEY award

A student who has taken time away from her university studies to volunteer at a hospice in St Albans has been nominated for an award.
