Sign up for this year’s Herts 10K Challenge

Runners across the county can now sign up for this year’s Herts 10K Challenge.
The seventh annual race, which raises cash for Grove House, will take place on Sunday, October 14.
Participants can walk or run the course around Rothamsted Research in Harpenden.

Local Hospice Charity Seeks Chair of Trustees

Iain Rennie Grove House Hospice Care (IRGH) offers specialist 24/7 hospice at home care.
IRGH is seeking a new volunteer Chair with experience of leading a significant business or charity to lead the team of trustees and be an ambassador for the organisation.

A bereavement network in St Albans has held its first open day for children at Butterfly World.

Sky Ride Local rides taking place on Sundays

Free community bike rides encouraging people to explore St Albans got started at the weekend.
Cyclists of all ages from beginners to experienced were invited to get out on urban and rural routes, led by British Cycling-trained ride leaders.

Sky Ride Local began on Sunday (July 15) and will take place every Sunday until October.

A former St Albans pupil has returned to her old school to show off the Olympic Torch she carried during the relay.

Train users asked their views on Thameslink service

The district council has set up a Working Group to help develop the response to a government consultation about the franchise. Read  more

As part of the group’s work residents are being asked to send in their views and ideas for improvements.
