Residents show support for proposal for new museum

Residents are behind plans to build a new museum in St Albans city centre, research has shown. A survey of museum visitors has shown that people want a more participatory and social site with both permanent and temporary exhibits. St Albans District Council will use the findings to support its application for Heritage Lottery Funding. Read more here



Father Christmas to make an early visit to St Albans

Father Christmas and his elves will be taking a break from their festive preparations on Friday 21st Dec (Tomorrow)  to visit St Albans. Face painters and balloon artists will also be entertaining crowds at St Albans City Station between 1pm and 3.30pm. Children will be able to meet Santa and tell him any last minute Christmas wishes before receiving a free present.

St Albans commuters urged to help a child at Christmas

A community project in St Albans is urging commuters to dig deep and donate a present to give to to a vulnerable child just in time for Christmas.

Alban Play Station community group is launching a toy drive to raise awareness of Home Start, a charity dedicated to supporting families with young children, who need some extra support during difficult times.

Volunteers will be spreading Christmas cheer in both St Albans City Station and Harpenden train station by handing out sweets and gift tags on Friday, December 14, between 4pm and 7.30pm.
