Residents will be able to explore the tower at St Albans Cathedral in the first of this year’s tours. The popular attraction, which takes visitors to the top of the Normal Bell Tower, will be held on Saturday, May 4. Cathedral guides will be on hand to provide expert knowledge while people take in the views of St Albans. Tickets for the tours, which cost £8, are available by calling 01727 890213

Learn about Harpenden's new library location
Residents will be able to find out more about Harpenden library’s move to the High Street at a drop in session next week. The current Vaughan Road library will close its doors on April 23 and will reopen in the former Argos building. Staff will be on hand at the existing site to talk about the move between 2pm and 5.30pm on Tuesday, April 16.

Get set for this year's Hertfordshire County Show in Redbourn
Motorcycle display team performances, aerial stunt displays and a circus are just some of the things that will be on offer at this year’s Hertfordshire County Show. The annual event, which is held at the showground in Redbourn, will run on May 25 and 26.

Have your say in Hertfordshire County Council elections
With Hertfordshire County Council elections just around the corner, residents are being reminded to register to vote.
In order to have their voice counted on Thursday, May 2, people must be on St Albans’ electoral register.
Mike Lovelady, the electoral registration officer for the district council, said: "You must be on the electoral register to have your say in the Hertfordshire County Council elections. If you have recently moved to the area, or moved house make sure that you register at your new address otherwise you will be unable to vote."
Registration forms must be received by Wednesday, April 17.
